What We Do
LIFE IS A MOVIE(www.lifeisamovie.com) is an e-commerce site dedicated to making rare and hard-to-find videos available to collectors, fans and anyone who loves film or is seeking that favorite classic TV show.
We offer video and DVD titles from several libraries, collections, manufacturers and distributors. In each case, we seek to provide the best possible quality on all the titles we offer. Whether the video you bid on is in a plain sleeve or a four-color printed sleeve, the same high standards apply. All titles are recorded in SP mode, never in EP, LP or SLP. We have elected to offer titles in plain sleeves in order to make them available to those interested more in content than in packaging, where the cost of printing sleeves would make release cost prohibitive. In most cases, the master materials used are the same used to fulfill orders for broadcast, cable and video companies all over the world.
Our primary goal is customer satisfaction, so always feel free to ask a question or make a comment. You'll actually get a response!
We're buiding toward a compreshensive on-line film museum, complete with streaming video, lots of non-VHS/DVD items and just general information. It's still early days, but stay tuned!
Who We Are
Christine - Hi! I'm one of the partners and "Jane of all trades" at LIFE IS A MOVIE. You'll likely hear from me if you have a question or comment. I'm an SDSU film school graduate that's been in video distribution, international film licensing and acquisitions for over 15 years. I still do the international sales and acquisitions, but absolutely love what we're doing with LIFE IS A MOVIE.
Daniel Hi, I a partner in LIFE IS A MOVIE. I started out as an actor in a scary film called The Varrow Mission (aka Teen Alien) when I was about 18. When the production crew invited me to carry lights and build sets, I was bitten by the movie bug. I did about two years at the University of Utah film department then left for Hollywood where I worked as a sound effects engineer. That where Christine and I became friends. Almost two decades later I attended the Hollywood Film Institute and decided to leave the studio, go out on my own and direct my own films and TV shows - which I do when I not in front of this computer! One summer while on film hiatus I was worked as a radio disc jockey on the overnight shift. A troop of girl scouts (in a series of what seemed to be two months of sleep-over-parties) called the request line often and soon gave me the nickname angerous Dan- after a character in the pack of Old Maid cards they were playing with. (They autographed the card and sent it to me.) Now my friends call me angerous,which is funny since I a real pussy cat.
Other partners include a major film collector/film library owner that's been in the business (including his own video label) for about 30 years and a super-tech-whiz computer guy whose day job is with a major computer hardware/software company developing ways to make streaming video with a regular modem connection and without broadband access a reality.
